Tom Holman -- Architect
Tom has worked for over 25 years in the fields of computer science and engineering. His primary areas of expertise are in system architecture, performance and reliability. At Tandem, Tom developed a fault tolerant memory system utilizing advanced symbol-error correcting codes. At Intel, he developed ECC codes for the processor, chipset and system bus used in the first Pentium Pro™based server system, Subsequently he designed, validated and implemented several chipset/memory and cache ECC codes. While at Sun, Tom designed, and validated the bus arbitration and MP coherence chips for a 20-way multiprocessor. Tom holds a BS in physics from ASU, an MSEE from Stanford and a PhD in Computer Science from University of Washington.
